"The first and most important finding: Among Us is better than it looks! Although it would never occur to me to play this cat and mouse game with extensive communication with strangers, it can still be fun with friends and acquaintances despite the modest setting. The more participants get together, the greater the potential fun. And the balance should also benefit from this, which quickly gets skewed in favor of the cheaters when there are only a few players. With the ability to play cross-platform, free mobile versions, and simple game mechanics with high accessibility, you should be able to round up a few people in no time. The big hype surrounding the game doesn't make sense to me though: Fall Guys or the great Hidden in Plain Sight came much later."

"Among Us successfully transfers the devious gameplay of in-person cloak-and-dagger games to video game form. Murder and deception on a whimsical cartoony spaceship is so much fun that the only real question is what took it so long to catch on?"

"Among Us is an instantly accessible and super-addictive casual gaming experience that serves up some hilarious whodunnit hijinks in short bursts that are perfectly suited to portable play. There are a few niggles here with regards to controls that make communication fussier than it really needs to be, but this is a fine port that finally enables Switch gamers to jump in and see what all the fuss is about with this most unlikely of gaming sensations."

"Among Us can definitely provide you with pleasant evenings of manipulation and treachery among friends. It has ingredients that will appeal to the greatest number with an already popular concept. However, the formula risks running out of steam quickly if it does not incorporate new features. Let's also hope that the developers come to grips with the particularly annoying server bugs. The margin for progress is wide, and there is no doubt that InnerSloth will be able to develop the game by honoring the proposals it provides for us."

"Among Us first launched in 2018, but the suspenseful multiplayer party game truly took off in 2020. No one predicted that pandemic-induced social distancing would leave us all desperate for new ways to virtually interact with friends, including lying to them on spaceships. More than just the right game for the right moment, Among Us is a genuinely and immensely entertaining online and offline multiplayer game. It’s an Editors’ Choice award-winning iPhone game for anyone with a stomach for deception."

"Diving into Among Us, I see the charm despite its simplicity, and I can't help but to love the way this game makes me look at everyone as if they are super sus. Among Us is what it is, and unapologetically so. This year may be bad, but having fun experiences definitely isn't; Among Us provides a much-needed reprieve from reality without taking itself too seriously."

Among Us is a party game of teamwork and betrayal.

Crewmates work together to complete tasks before one or more Impostors can kill everyone aboard.

How to Play

Prepare for departure but beware the Impostor! Play with 4-15 players online or via local WiFi as you attempt to hold your spaceship together and survive, but be careful. One or more random players among the crew are Impostors bent on killing everyone!

The Crew

Objective: Fill the group task bar or eject the Impostors
Complete all the tasks on the ship or eject Impostors to win.
Call emergency meetings if you see any dead bodies or suspicious behavior.
Check the Admin map and Security cameras to keep tabs on other Crewmates.
React quickly to undo the Impostor’s sabotages.
Make sure you have your alibi ready in case you’re falsely accused.
Vote to eject suspected Impostors. Hope you guessed correctly!

The Imposter

Objective: Kill off the crew
Kill Crewmates and frame innocent bystanders.
Pretend to do tasks to blend in with the Crewmates.
Sneak through the vents to quickly move around.
Sabotage tasks to cause chaos and confuse the crew.
Close doors to trap victims and kill in private.
Do everything you can to convince the crew that you’re one of them.
